Good morning everyone!
The A's finish the Texas leg of this road trip today, and will try to salvage a series win after ending their five-game losing streak last night. Jesse Hahn takes the mound for the Green and Gold. The 27-year-old Connecticut native has been a revelation so far this season, having gone at least six innings in all four starts, and is coming off of an eight-inning, one hit masterpiece.
Hahn will be opposed by former Cy Young award winner Dallas Keuchel. Keuchel has also been extraordinary so far in 2017, and seems to have reestablished himself as one of baseball's best. Keuchel has pitched at least seven innings in all five starts, and is coming off of a complete game victory against Cleveland. If Hahn and Keuchel stay true to their current form, we should be in line for a pretty quick ballgame.
Susan Slusser reported plenty of injury-related news this morning. The A's have put Sean Manaea on the disabled list, though they only expect him to miss one start. A corresponding move hasn't been made for today's game. The A's also expect both Sonny Gray and Rajai Davis to come off the disabled list prior to Tuesday's game in Minnesota, which seems like it will probably spell the end for Ryan LaMarre. The left-handed hitting trio of Jaff Decker, Stephen Vogt, and Yonder Alonso all get the day off today against Keuchel. Line-ups are posted below - first pitch is at 11:10 AM. Let's go A's!
