Game Thread #23: Oakland Athletics at Houston Astros

New, comments

After a positively heartbreaking series sweep at the hands of the Angels to cap off a dismal week, the A's left a night game last night on a plane to Houston, where they will face the Astros tonight. Tired and all, they literally couldn't have a worse game tonight than Tuesday's, Wednesday's, or Thursday's, so there's that.

Neville E. Guard-USA TODAY Sports

appy Friday and welcome to another Friday night drinking thread in the 2017 A's season! I'll be your host, baseballgirl, somewhat remotely, as I am at a Single-A baseball game tonight in the middle of nowhere. If I don't return tonight, I've been kidnapped, so please send help. Although I'm not sure this A team can play any worse than our actual A's team, who squandered two absolutely phenomenal pitching performances this week; one by Hahn, one by Graveman (who also turned the play of the year so far in the field; if you didn't see it, go do that now) and managed to lose both games.

But, as they say, today is another day, and another series in fact, as the A's take on the Houston Astros behind Jharel Cotton, who is coming off his worse start of the season.

Here are your lineups:
