Game Thread #17: Oakland Athletics vs. Seattle Mariners

New, comments

Don't call it a comeback! The Oakland A's, despite dropping what seems like a player a night during last week's miserable performances, have legitimately won three exciting games in a row this week with their band of misfit toys and are looking for four in a row tonight behind Sean Manaea.

Andrew Villa-USA TODAY Sports

Happy Friday, everyone! Welcome to another Friday night drinking thread. I'm 0-2 on the season so far, but here's to hoping. I have to admit, it looked like the A's season was over before it began after their tough loss on Saturday, with Graveman joining Gray on the DL starting rotation, but a rainout on Sunday and a big loss on Monday seemed to spark the team into action as they roared back to beat the Rangers in the series by winning the final two games, and they opened the Mariners series with a win last night for their third win in a row.

Let's make it four.

Sean Manaea will take the mound tonight; the starting pitcher for the aforementioned disastrous loss last Saturday, where he barely pitched five innings, and despite not allowing a hit, was pulled from the game, and his team blew a 5-0 lead to add insult to injury. He will be facing off against Hisashi Iwakuma for the Mariners.

Here are your lineups:
