The Oakland A's spoiled the Royals' home opener on Monday with a 2-0 victory, but the two teams got Tuesday off in a normal early-season scheduling quirk. (Short answer: In case of rain.) Now the series resumes for two more games.
The opposing pitcher is Jason Hammel, who is quite familiar to A's fans. He's attached to a lot of bad memories from 2014, which makes it especially lame that he now pitches for the Royals, but I encourage you to remember him fondly. He pitched better for us than many folks realize, and he's a good dude. Our own Fatrolf, who lives in Chicago, has had the chance to meet him and vouches that he's awesome. Heck, if you go to his Twitter profile, his photo is a Fatrolf drawing. (Seriously, go look. Also his screen name is HammelTime, c'mooon.)
