Game Thread #160: Oakland Athletics at Seattle Mariners

Only three games left! Believe it or not, the Mariners are still holding out the slimmest of hopes. If they win out and either Baltimore or Toronto collapse, there is still a slim chance they could make a playoff appearance. Tonight's game features Seattle's Taijuan Walker against Raul Alcantara.

A moment of silence for the last Friday night game thread of the season. I'd like to say it's been fun, but it's been real. My Facebook "On this Day" reminded me that two years ago, the A's blew their chance to advance further in the postseason with the loss to the Royals. It's been all downhill from there. Here's to 2017,everyone!

Welcome to the final weekend of Major League baseball, as the A's will try to finish the season strong and the Mariners will try to stay alive. It's a long, long shot for them, but yes, they are still alive. Meanwhile on the A's Danny Valencia was just scratched, which matters for fantasy, but not for the A's.
