Game Thread #153: Oakland Athletics vs. Texas Rangers

The A's welcome in the Texas Rangers tonight as Cole Hamels tries to win the West for the Rangers in tonight's game. He will be opposed by Kendall Graveman.

If you can believe it, it's the penultimate Friday night game of the 2016 Oakland Athletics baseball season. Other teams will move on to other Fridays, but the A's are not one of them. However, this game is relevant; the Texas Rangers can clinch the Division officially tonight in a "not if, but when" scenario and will continue the fight for home field playoff advantage. So we likely will see a celebration at some point, but let's hope it's losses from the Mariners and the Astros this weekend as the A's sweep the series. Remember a last-series season sweep against the Rangers? Siiiigh. Here's to better days.
