Game Thread #106: A's at Angels

Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports

Sorry for the late thread!

You wouldn't know it by looking at the stats, but Matt Shoemaker (5-11, 4.17) vs. Sean Manaea (3-5, 4.57) is one heck of a pitchers' duel. I know, I know, 4 ERAs and lackluster win-loss records. But both pitchers are on stellar hot streaks – over the past month, both have been top-20 starting pitchers. Matt Shoemaker has a solid case to be the best pitcher in the MLB since his disastrous April. Sean Manaea has almost certainly been the A's best pitcher since he returned from the DL six starts ago. This should be pretty fun. Or it'll be a massive blow out. Either way.

Here are the lineups, featuring the potentially the worst defensive outfield I've ever seen start for the A's: Coco Crisp, Jake Smolinski, Danny Valencia. Good luck, Sean, you're going to need it.

Today's Lineups
