Game Thread #118: A's vs. Mariners

Neville E. Guard-USA TODAY Sports

BASEBALL!

Today's exciting pitching matchup is truly one for the ages: Zach Neal (2-1, 4.60) vs. Wade Leblanc (1-0, 4.71). These are potentially the two least exciting pitchers in baseball, so I'm not quite sure what to say here.

Zach Neal went 5.1 with one earned run against the Orioles last week. That was cool.

Wade Leblanc is probably one of the top thousand pitchers currently active. He's, in the grand scheme of things, a very good pitcher. In a slightly smaller scheme of things, he is not very good and has never been very good.

The A's have definitely been playing better lately. I mean, we've made that observation like eight times this season and they always back it up with a massive losing streak, but, y'know. It'd be cool to win back-to-back series against two good teams.

Here are the lineups.
