Today is likely Rich Hill's (9-3, 2.25) last start in an A's uniform, so enjoy it while you can. I'm very, very sure that he's out the door within the next five days, but he'll have the opportunity to leave us with a sweep of the Toronto Blue Jays, and that would be pretty dang cool.
J.A. Happ (12-3, 3.36), the other weirdly effective old dude reclamation project of the offseason, will be going for the Jays. He's significantly less aesthetically awesome than Hill, but he's still pretty good, so this has the potential to be a pretty decent pitcher's duel. Or we could score a billion runs. I'd prefer the latter, actually.
Here are the lineups.
Let's baseball!
