Game Thread #90: Oakland Athletics vs. Toronto Blue Jays

And away we go; onwards and upwards to the second half of the season!

Jake Roth-USA TODAY Sports

Good afternoon and Happy Friday! Welcome back to baseball after a fun week off. I went to the All Star game live in San Diego on Tuesday and had a blast, of course, watching every other team but the A's play. The last All-Star game I attended live, the A's had seven representatives; in this one, not a single A's player played. Such is life, it turns on a dime a scant two years later. I saw the A's at their peak as the best team in baseball and now as they are basically irrevelent to the rest of the league. But we play the games anyway, hoping you see something at the ballpark you've never before seen.

In an exciting twist, I am blogging live from tonight's game, where I'm in a suite! It's all very exciting as the A's face the Blue Jays (Hi Josh Donaldson!). To fulfill our "something we've never seen before" quota, Ryon Healy is making his major debut at third base tonight, batting ninth. This of course means that Valencia is not starting tonight. For those of you keeping score or speculating at home, he IS on the lineup card.

Here are your lineups:
