Alonso struck first blood with a 2 RBI single in the first to put the A's ahead 2-0. It took until the 5th inning for the Astros to get their first run--this on a hanging curve ball by Sonny Gray that led to a Carlos Gomez home run. Daniel Coulombe replaces Sonny in the 6th and gives up the tying run to Evan Gattis. He follows with a bunt single to Valbuena and is quickly pulled by Bob Melvin and replaced by Ryan Dull. After 6, it's 2-2.
