The Oakland Athletics and San Francisco Giants get the annual Bay Bridge series underway with the first of four games, two at AT&T Park and two at the Oakland Coliseum. The A's send rookie Daniel Mengden to the hill tonight, still in search of his first win despite averaging two earned runs and six innings pitched in his first three major league starts. The Giants will send old friend Jeff Samardzija to the mound.
Manager Bob Melvin enjoyed the AT&T Park playground:
Bob Melvin says he went down the Coca-Cola slide during his run up and down the stadium steps here today. Because, why not?
