It is not common to get a shot at redemption so quickly, but the Athletics have that opportunity this weekend vs. the Angels. Last weekend, the A's were shut down by pitchers who most would describe as "well past their prime" in Tim Lincecum and Jered Weaver. The A's now get a chance to face them in their next turn in the rotation.

The A's bats have been the worst in the American League in runs scored and OPS, and the offense has been the biggest disappointment of the season to this point, although some key injuries have factored in. The team gets a 2nd chance at some arms that should not be shutting MLB offenses down, and it is on the lineup to put some runs up and help their young starters with run production.

Tonight's Athletics starter is 25 year old MLB sophomore Kendall Graveman. KG brings a 2-6 record, 4.87 ERA and 5.19 FIP into the game. Last Friday night, Graveman took on the Angels and pitched well, going 7 innings and allowing just 1 run on 3 hits and 1 BB, while striking out 4. Graveman did not get the decision but the A's did win the game 3-2.

Tonight, recent acquisition, 24 year old Arismendy Alcantara gets his first start with the Athletics at 2B. The lineups are presented below. Go A's!
