Game Thread #49: Oakland Athletics vs. Detroit Tigers

Well after an uninspiring series loss to the Seattle Mariners, save for the gem that Rich Hill pitched, the A's open a series at home against the Detroit Tigers, who are playing just about .500 ball. The A's would be so lucky; they are missing most of their team, and almost all of their starting pitching, but we do get to see Sean Manaea face off against another rookie pitcher tonight.

Happy Friday and welcome to an amazing fun-filled three-day weekend! Here's to hoping that the A's can start us off with a win to kick off the holiday weekend as Sean Manaea takes the mound against Michael Fulmer for the Tigers. I like the A's lineup tonight, and there's nothing like Manaea getting the starts to increase his big league experience.
