Game Thread #43: Oakland Athletics vs. New York Yankees

After the first game in the series resulted in heavy losses; not only the game, which broke a week-long four-game winning streak, but also a 4-6 week loss of one of the A's hottest hitters in Josh Reddick, the A's try to continue their winning ways against the Yankees in tonight's game.

Good evening and a Happy Friday to you! This A's team is hard to read so far; they're good, they're bad, they're injured, they're going to recover, they're starting pitching is good...? bad...? We just don't know. The A's usual ace, who has struggled mightily this season so far, will try to right his own ship while keeping the A's in good spirits until they can have their whole team back together.

Sonny Gray will face off against CC Sabathia, whom the A's hit well, especially at home, in his first start off the DL. Billy Burns will sit this one out, while Jake Smolinski will take over right field. As we learned from last night, don't let the Yankees have three late innings with a lead. Here's to hoping!
