In the Oakland Athletics' first afternoon contest of the 2016 season, the A's look to start their first winning streak of the young season and even both the series and their overall record at 2-2.
On the bump for the A's is 2nd year RHP Kendall "The Gravedigger" Graveman. Graveman looks to command his nasty stuff and start the year off better than his rough start of 2015. He squares off vs. fellow RHP Mat Latos, who is looking to bounce back after an ugly 2015 (both on and off the field). Latos represents the first right handed starter the A's face, as he follows three quality lefties the White Sox rolled out in games 1-3 of the series. Surely the A's left handed batters such as Stephen Vogt, Josh Reddick, Chris Coghlan and Yonder Alonso are excited about the opportunity to face their first RH starter of the season. Here are the lineups for both teams:
The A's are currently slight favorites to win the game (-113). So far, the series has gone to the Vegas money line favorite in each game, and A's fans hope that holds true to form in game 4.
Coming off a fantastic first outing from Sonny Gray (credited with the W), and a nice one run win nailed down by the bullpen (Axford in the 8th and Madson in the 9th for the save) and featuring sound defensive play most notably from SS Marcus Semien, the A's look to keep the wind in their sails and finish the short home stand with a .500 record.
