As the bright Arizona sun fades into evening, an almost hazy dream to those of us in rain-soaked California, we can be pleased today with the A's brilliant performance. Chris Bassitt pitched three scoreless innings, allowing but one hit and one walk. He struck out three in his three innings.
Although Sam Fuld was the star with his three-run home run in the second and his later triple, the entire A's team got into the action. Burns, Wendle, Lowrie, Ladendorf, Canha, Muncy, Chapman, Phegley, Maxwell and Nunez all recorded on hit apiece, spreading out the scoring up and down the lineup.
Mark "Scrabble" Rzepczynski pitched a shaky Spring Training inning, allowing three hits and three runs, but Rodriguez allowed just one hit and recorded three strikeouts in his 1.2 innings. Schuster faced one batter and Alcantara pitched the last three innings, giving up the Reds fourth run, but finishing the game.
The A's will take on Texas tomorrow at noon; Kendall Graveman will take the mound as we get closer and closer to the start of the season.
