In a five game series, it's arguably the second game that really is the crucial one. One team is playing for the series tie; to turn the series into a 3-game affair, and one is playing for the near-insurmountable 2-0 series lead (unless you are playing the A's in a five-game series; whoa, too soon?).
ALDS Game 2: Toronto Blue Jays at Texas Rangers - 10:00AM
So maybe the Orioles shouldn't feel so bad after all. Well except for ending their season with arguably the best pitcher in the league sitting on the bench, but hey, at least it look them a while to finally lose and they at least held Toronto to five runs, which is a full half of what happened to the Rangers in yesterday's game, as the feud we were promised never materialized; the game was a blowout from the five-spot put up by the Blue Jays in the third inning. The final score was 10-1 and it's hard to drum up any fire at all for that game.Today's game will see Happ vs. Darvish, and although I think of Darvish as a batting practice pitcher, I realize that other teams have a hard time hitting him.
Update: The Rangers didn't allow 10 runs; merely 5 today, but they basically failed every single time they had men on base (and there were plenty), and lost 5-3, with the tying runs up or on base each of the last innings. Thus, the Blue Jays take a 2-0 lead going home. It looks good for them!
ALDS Game 2: Boston Red Sox at Cleveland Indians - 1:30PM
This game was much closer than its predecessor, as the Red Sox had a few good at-bats late, but ultimately two ill-timed check-swings in two otherwise great at-bats saw the Red Sox fall in the ninth by the score of 5-4. Today's game features Price vs. Kluber and it should be another good one.
Let's go someone!
