Game Thread #139: Oakland Athletics vs. Houston Astros

Boy do we have a treat for you tonight! Yes, I know that 90% of the season, I've been saying that as a sarcastic joke, but tonight, I'm really serious. You guys. Sonny Gray against Scott Kazmir. I know! It's a marquee match-up!

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

Good evening and welcome back to work, as our Labor Day festivities have come to a conclusion and Fall is in the air, despite being over 100 degrees in many parts of California (dies).

If you're looking for a little late-season fun from a team that has disappointed beginning to end in 2015, look no further, as the A's will be playing the Astros (who I really do hope win the Division, just so we're clear) in a marquee match-up of Sonny Gray and Scott Kazmir.

Of course, our pitching match-up fun requires Sonny Gray to be a whole lot better than he was in his last start, where he surrendered a season-high six runs. Kazmir is also coming off a bad start, so hopefully both starters will pull it together and give us an exciting pitchers' duel to spice up our Tuesday night.

The lineups are set. The game is about to begin. Let's enjoy the waning days of Oakland Athletics baseball, circa 2015 and go into the off-season with promise and hope.

Here are your lineups:
