Game Thread #147: A's at White Sox

In a game that couldn't have less meaning, the Awful A's look to split the series against the Struggling Sox.

Matt Marton-USA TODAY Sports

Sean Nolin, one of 2.5 functioning starters for the A's gets the nod against White Sox. With all the injuries, Nolin represents a rare glimpse into our future staff. Also, Tyler Ladendorf is playing centerfield, so that's neat.

Jose Quintana goes for the sox, so we've got the LHP killing lineup out there today. Quintana has been quite good in 2015, quietly amassing 4.2 fWAR after a 5 win 2014 campaign. Should be a nice test for our sluggers.

Can you remember a worse series in terms of baseball quality? This series is giving me major flashbacks from 2007-2011. These are truly the dog days of summer.

Today's Lineups

OAKLAND A'S CHICAGO WHITE SOX
Marcus Semien - SS Micah Johnson - 2B
Mark Canha - 1B Alexei Ramirez - SS
Brett Lawrie - 2B Melky Cabrera - LF
Danny Valencia - 3B Avisail Garcia - RF
Billy Butler - DH Geovany Soto - DH
Josh Reddick - RF Mike Olt - 1B
Josh Phegley - C J.B. Shuck - CF
Jake Smolinski - LF Tyler Flowers - C
Tyler Ladendorf - CF Tyler Saladino - 3B
Sean Nolin - LHP Jose Quintana - LHP
All that said, I still love the A's. Let's win this thing!
