Why is Beane given so much slack?

I am an A's fan dating back to the 70s and love my squad. I lived with Rickey Henderson posters on my wall, and Mitchell the Rage Page was a childhood hero. Now that I have established my passion..

Billy Beane.

While I feel that he has done a lot with less money than anyone else over the years, for the most part, his major trades are abominable. I opine that the Cespedes trade destroyed the season last year. Cespedes is now a potential NL MVP. There was no reason to trade him. Fans loved him, he was a menacing bat in the lineup. Teams feared him.

Then you develop Donaldson into an All Star and deal him and he becomes the best player in the AL. I see fans trying to do silver lining on these trades. Cmon . It is what it is. The A's are a last place ball club. With these two pieces, there is no reason they would not still be in the race again. The players that Beane acquired were mediocre or now gone (Lester).

He went for it last year with the Addison Russell trade. OK. But doubling down on Lester having to give up Cespedes was catastrophic and look at how it all played out. Not good for the A's. Carlos Gonzalez? Heck look at the Tim Hudson trade. This has been going on for years.

Then the refusal, having gutted the team, to not call up Zito, to give the fans something to cheer for in this lost season, again, shows that the A's don't care about their fan base.

Beane has run his course here in Oakland. He has=d some good seasons and did a lot with very little payroll and his contributions to the game are interesting and have been copied elsewhere. However, he has a horrible track record in his big trades and I, as a fan, am longing for a change. He has no magic touch. He has not won anything and he destroyed this team the last 10 months. Its horrible.

Billy, hire a new GM. Or call it a day. Thanks for what you did, but you are overrated and have not been fair to the fans and you continue to skate away with this "genius reputation".

Beane is overrated and its time to go.
