Manager Bob Melvin expects Stephen Vogt to return to the lineup during the team's three-city road trip, reported Susan Slusser for the San Francisco Chronicle on Wednesday. Vogt left Sunday's game against the Seattle Mariners after taking a 93 mph foul tip off his groin.
Vogt said the pain was "indescribable. I'm on pain medication and I'm still not comfortable. This has been miserable the past couple of days." The idea of getting back behind the plate "gave him nausea," Slusser wrote.
A second ultrasound on Tuesday revealed no ruptures in that area, Slusser reported on Tuesday.
In other injury news, Sam Fuld has not batted since Aug. 25 nor fielded since Aug. 30 due to back spasms, but may return for the three-game set against Texas, reports Janie McCauley for the Associated Press.
