Game Thread #88: A's at Yankees

The A's try to escape from New York with a series win and no more injuries to pitchers.

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

Welcome to some Morning Baseball! Close your spreadsheets, ignore your annoying coworker and focus in on some exciting hit ball with round stick action between the team that most loves to waste money, and the team that most likes to save it.

Lineups are below. Look at that A's lineup. Thing is a friggin beaut! With the exception of Billy Butler hitting before Jesse Chavez, this is the lineup the A's should trot out there more often than not.

Speaking of Jesse, the righty looks to get back to his winning and successful ways after two subpar starts. He faces a Yankees lineup loaded with a mix of expensive left handed sluggers and players who wouldn't crack our AAA team. With the short porch in right, look for Jesse to work down and away, keeping the ball in the excuse for a ballpark that is new Yankee Stadium.

Masahiro Tanaka gets the start for the Yankees. Tanaka was excellent last year pre injury, and has been solid this year in spite of a tear in his UCL. Yikes. Injuries are a horrible thing, and I grimace overtime I see the Yankees righty throw a pitch, in fear for that UCL.

Let's go Oakland!
