Game Thread #83: Oakland Athletics vs. Seattle Mariners

New, comments

The A's look to make it three in a row as they send Jesse Chavez to the mound against J.A. Happ. The A's look to continue their winning ways, and with a win, can start to climb out of the American League basement.

Lance Iversen-USA TODAY Sports

Happy Friday, happy three day weekend, happy Fourth of July! The A's will play game two of this four game series tonight as Jesse Chavez will face off against the left-handed J.A. Happ. Josh Reddick, after some controversial comments about his playing time, will be in the lineup today facing Happ.

Some good news; Sonny Gray is feeling better after his bout with salmonella this week; he is expected to avoid the DL.

Jesse Chavez, the A's hard-luck losing pitcher on Sunday against the Royals, will look to continue his dominance in tonight's start.
