Game Thread #97: Oakland Athletics vs. Toronto Blue Jays

Drew Pomeranz will come out of the bullpen, where he has done an admirable job, to start this afternoon's game in the wake of the Scott Kazmir trade. Meanwhile, the A's will face a right-handed starter, and their lineup reflects it.

What news? Is there something big that happened this morning that might affect the season and today's starting pitcher slot? Drew Pomeranz always starts, right? The A's right-handed pitcher lineup will take a crack at another series win today against R.A. Dickey, who is a fill-in start himself.

The A's played like their better half last night as they survived yet another bullpen meltdown and were able to walk it off in the tenth inning, to the delight of the home crowd. We'll all be hoping for more of the same today. Heaven knows, my game threads deserve it.
