It's game two of this three-game series between the Athletics (41-51) and Twins (50-40). Oakland's Scott Kazmir starts against Minnesota's Phil Hughes.

The Athletics will try to score for the first time in the second half as they face Minnesota Twins starter Phil Hughes. The Twins will go up against left-hander Scott Kazmir, who last started on July 8 and exited due to left triceps tightness. First pitch is scheduled for 6:07 PM.

It's Torii Hunter's 40th birthday! He has received all the gifts he needs for his old age, and does not need another win on top of it:

Tonight's A's lineup puts Mark Canha in left field and Ben Zobrist at second base. Eric Sogard goes to the bench. The Twins make just one change to their lineup from last night despite the pitcher changing hands; Switch-hitter Eduardo Escobar starts at shortstop for switch-hitter Danny Santana.
