Game Thread #75: A's at Rangers

New, comments

Get your Sweempers ready, the A's look to win all three against the second place Rangers, with only potential heatstroke and Ericsam Fuldgard standing in their way.

Sonny Gray has pitched in Arlington before. Remember this? Ah, these were some good times. Well, good time, sandwiched between nearly identical piles of crap. This was an ace start. The Gray family probably looked like a bunch of weirdos when Sonny was grown up. "Hey Sonny", "Ya Mommy?". They probably named their dog "Doggy".

Anyway, things amazingly aren't so bad right now, in spite of being 8 games under the .500 mark. The A's have been playing like a damn good baseball team, probably because they're about 90% damn good baseball team. A win today and the A's could climb out of the cellar in the underwhelming AL West. And seriously, how can you not love this team?

Colby Lewis goes for the Rangers, and I think we all know the car mechanic looking righty has had some success against our beloved boys in Green and Gold. Career, he is 9-4 with a 3.01 ERA against the A's in spite of never really being that good. To counter Lewis, Bob Melvin has sent out a lineup that includes both Eric Sogard and Sam Fuld. Which of course, means the A's are going to score 10 runs today!

It is currently 89 degrees in Arlington, with a predicted high of 94, and apparently the Air Conditioning is broken. Look for a lot of carry today.

Go A's! Do it for the Sweemper!
