Okay, 2015 Oakland Athletics. You don't like me (as evidenced by every single game thread with my username attached) and I don't like you (see above for clear reasons why), but let's get through this thing and maybe you'll finally distract me from replaying Warriors' games over live A's games. (Of course, I'm kidding. I love unsatisfying horror movies as much as the next gal.) Here's what's going to happen. You're going to give Jesse Chavez proper run support in his start today because you're going to hit Chi Chi Gonzalez, even though he's been great as a starter; his only loss so far was to the A's earlier this month. Here's what you're not going to do. You are not to ruin Chavez' lead when he finally is dragged off the mound, hopefully in the eighth inning, and you are also not going to make any errors. Got it? I don't think that's too much to ask.
Don't look now, but the 2015 Oakland Athletics have been playing a better brand of baseball over the last month and have a chance to move to just 9 games under .500 with a win against their division rival Texas Rangers in tonight's contest. Jesse Chavez will take the mound for the A's, facing off against Texas' Chi Chi Gonzalez.
And of course, Adrian Beltre has made a speedy, super-fast comeback and was activated just moments before this series is to start. And obviously, we're not talking about missing Vogt in the lineup; he expects to play later in the week after his cortisone shot.
Here are your lineups:
LET'S GO OAK-LAND!
