The Athletics go on a trek through the Eastern Time Zone this week beginning with three against the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park followed by three more against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway. Tonight, Kendall Graveman faces Alfredo Simon. Simon was supposed to face the A's in the finale of last week's series, but he left on bereavement leave to join his ailing father in the Dominican Republic.

Just a few facts heading into tonight's contest, provided by the Oakland Athletics PR staff:

  • Billy Burns has four consecutive multi-hit games, a career high. His 12 leads American League rookies.
  • Stephen Vogt has hit safely in each of his last nine regular season games against the Tigers (14-for-33, .424).
  • The A's bullpen has a 3.48 ERA in its last 23 games (26 earned runs in 67⅓ innings pitched).
  • Marcus Semien has appeared in all 53 A's games (50 starts).
