Game Thread #28: Oakland Athletics at Minnesota Twins

New, comments

After yet another loss pinned directly on the bullpen last night, the A's starting pitchers and offense find themselves under pressure to not give up any runs to the opponents while throwing at least 7 innings per start while simultaneously scoring double-digit runs. Indeed, 7 runs and an early first-inning grand slam was not enough for a win yesterday; can Jesse Chavez turn the tide today?

Good evening and welcome to your 2015 Oakland Athletics baseball; the scrappy team that would be at .500 if it had just a league-average bullpen. There's really no sense in reliving the past, so tonight we're starting fresh. Jesse Chavez will take the hill for the A's in tonight's contest, facing off against Trevor May.

Billy Burns will lead off, at least until tomorrow, where it is rumored, tweeted, and captured in a photo from the plane, that Coco Crisp will make his return, the red-hot Josh Reddick will be hitting third, while the slumping Billy Butler will be at clean-up and the awesome Stephen Vogt, who literally did everything he could to will the A's to a win last night, will be in the fifth spot.

Here are the rest of your lineups:
