Game Thread #50: A's vs. Yankees

The A's take on the Yankees in game one of a four game set. Remember in 2012 when the A's swept the Yankees, and everything started to feel real and we all started to believe? Maybe this series will be like that! I'm going to say that every game until we're 30 games under .500 in September and we're playing the Rangers for last in the division.

Kendall Graveman looks to continue the success he saw in his last outing, and he has a big challenge ahead. Yes, that is a fat CC joke. Google tells me one CC is .0338140227 US fluid ounces (are there other fluid ounces?), but one Yankee CC is 388,240,227 US fluid ounces. Another bad fat CC joke! I hate the Yankees.

If you didn't gather, CC Sabathia is on the hill for the Yankees. The Villian from Vallejo has struggle at the Coliseum with a lifetime ERA of 5.30 in 14 starts. Unfortunately, none of those came against the 2015 A's lineup for lefties. That said, tonight's lineup for the A's actually looks pretty good! It's amazing what the upgrade from Eric Sogard to Ben Zobrist will do.

Want a fun fact? The A's opening day payroll sat at $83 million dollars and change. Alex Rodriguez, Mark Teixeira, Brian McCann, Carlos Beltran, and CC Sabathia are making a combined $98.5 million.
