Game #34: A's vs. Red Sox

Peter G. Aiken-USA TODAY Sports

Today's Boston herald article refers to Rick Porcello as "the most reliable member of the Sox' maligned rotation." Our very own Athletics Nation writer Jeremy Koo just gave you the details of this and our own pitching woes in his article "1223 Words about the Boston Red Sox: An Oakland A's Series Preview." Check it out; it's a perfect pre and post-game read. I'll move on to a brief overview of hitting.

Against current A's players Billy Butler appears to be Porcello's nemesis with a .357 average in 42 at bats and will hopefully pelt Porcello tonight. Crisp with 17 ABs is batting .294 against Porcello. Semien who has no record against Porcello will hopefully have another multi-homer game. There are those with less ABs against Porcello who have also faired well, some batting better than .300 (Reddick, Vogt, Fuld). So tonight has the potential to be a solid hit-fest against Porcello who comes in at 3-2 with a 4.38 ERA.

Melvin says we are going to win when we get home. Let's go boys. Be WARRIORS tonight!
