GameThread #24: A's vs. Rangers

After an abysmal homestand, the A's kick off a road trip against another struggling AL West squad. Gooooo bullpen.

Semien has been a nice bright spot in an otherwise drab world.

Greetings A's fans! Thanks for joining us for another edition of A's baseball. The A's are off to their worst start since 2009 (I keep going between revisiting that incredibly boring season and then reminding myself not to think about it). The A's got to get off the schneid. Seriously losing 5/6 at home. WTF. Please beat up on Texas.

Jeremy "Facts" Koo has all the detail you could want in his series preview. Read it.

Now that you've read it, you'll find that there are still many questions. Like when is the next time we'll actually win a freaking game? When is the next time the bullpen will actually hold a lead? I don't know but vis-a-vis the bullpen nothing about Arlington makes me feel good.

On the flip side the A's hitters should enjoy the change of pace. They are not as bad as Colby Lewis made them look the last time. I predict dominance by Kazmir, an early exit for Lewis, and victory for the A's, sans any real work by the bullpen.

Kazmir has had an absolutely ridiculous start to the season. The Texas native has a 2-0 record, 0.99 ERA, and has allowed just 15 hits in 27⅓ innings.

Yes I am getting my hopes up. Because without hope, what do we have? No sleep and a crappy baseball team. Well we still might have both of those things with hope, but whatever. Let's just win, shall we?
