Game Thread #1: Oakland A's vs. Texas Rangers

Welcome to Opening Day of the 2015 MLB season! We have entered a new era in Oakland, as the core from the last few years is gone and a host of new players are here to replace them. They might be good (probably), and they might be bad (doubtful), but either way it's gonna be exciting to find out.

There's not much left to say about this team that we haven't yet said. Despite the new lineup, we'll have a familiar face on the mound in Sonny Gray. He'll be facing the Texas Rangers, who are looking to rebound from a lost season but will have to do so without ace starter Yu Darvish -- the righty is out for the year with Tommy John surgery. The Rangers will send out right-hander Yovani Gallardo in his place. Gallardo was acquired from the Brewers during the offseason and wavered around league-average over the last two years in the National League.
