Oakland Athletics left fielder Coco Crisp announced on his social media accounts that he will begin a rehabilitation assignment with the Stockton Ports during their next homestand, which goes from May 1 and ends May 7.
Just received good news, looks like I'll be rehabbing with the Stockton Ports during their up coming… https://t.co/LBbuW0oUjL

It has been rumored that once Crisp began a rehab assignment, he would probably not take the full 20 days allowed for position player rehab assignments.
So that does indeed indicate that Coco Crisp could be back in early May, a week or two ahead of schedule after arthroscopic elbow surgery.

Just an educated guess, but the A's will probably part ways with outfielder Cody Ross if no other roster maneuvers intervene ahead of Crisp's return. Ross can be released without monetary cost to the team, according to the San Francisco Chronicle's Susan Slusser.
