Game Thread #5: Oakland Athletics vs. Seattle Mariners

After starting the season with a win, loss, win, loss, you would think the A's would look for another win today, but it's not going to be easy. The A's will send their fifth starter, Drew Pomeranz to the mound to face off against a player that the Mariners hope will be a star on their team; Taijuan Walker. Walker had a phenomenal Spring and looks to take that success into the regular season.

Happy Friday and welcome to our first Friday night game thread of the season! Together with your drink of choice, we will settle in to root for the green and gold. Drew Pomeranz will make his first start of the season after winning the spot in the rotation during Spring Training.

Tonight's lineup will feature Mark Canha for the third straight game, batting second in front of Zobrist, Butler and Davis. Sam Fuld will lead off again.

It would really bolster the A's hopes for the season to have a good series against the rival Mariners early.
