Spring Game Thread #4: Oakland A's at Arizona D'Backs

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

The Oakland A's are undefeated, baby. But wait, so are the 2-0 Arizona D'Backs. Well then, two shall enter unscathed and only one shall leave that way ... unless they tie, of course, which is totally a thing in spring training.

The big news of the day so far is that Josh Reddick was scratched from the game with a slight oblique strain, per Susan Slusser. She goes on to report that he tweaked the muscle during defensive drills, that he'll miss 4-5 days, and that he'll go for an MRI just in case. Read her full post on the SF Chronicle for the entire story. Billy Burns will start in his place today, and when it comes to consolation prizes that's about as fun of one as you can hope for.

Kendall Graveman gets the start today, making his first outing in green and gold. Marcus Semien is yet to be retired this spring, at 5-for-5 with two homers and a walk, and I expect that means he won't get out all year. The A's will see a familiar face on the other side of the field in Cliff Pennington, and they'll get their first look at Cuban slugger Yasmany Tomas.

Let's Go A's! But don't pull a hammy over it!
