A little solace for those of you unhappy with the Royals sitting atop the baseball world.

I noticed a few parallels between this Royals team and a team we know all too well.

Their entire strategy was based on taking extra bases when possible. Sound familiar? They were also on the brink of elimination before mounting an improbable comeback. Sound familiar? They did all this while being managed by an absolute dunderhead. Sound familiar?

And the most striking parallel:

There you have it. They may be well on their way to becoming the Missouri Royals of Kansas City. No, they probably won't have a stupid name change or anything like that. What they may end up doing is holding on to a totally incompetent manager that weighs them down on the premise that he was part of one championship team. Ned Yost might just become Mike Scioscia. The Royals may be the new Angels.
