Oakland As possible trades. Minor league Outfield talent.
These are all very optimistic trade ideas but i could also see them happening.
Billy Mckinney 34# Cubs
Trade: Jesse Hahn, Jesse Chavez, Sean Nolin for Billy Mckinney and Kyle Hendricks.
Billy Mckinney is one of my favorite prospects in the game and I think he could be a game changing player and I would love for anything for him to be back in the As farm system. The As have a crowded infield in our minor leagues and very little outfield talent besides Franklin Barreto whos making the change to the outfield. We would get a player who could take over left field as soon as 2017. He has a chance to hit for an above average and above average power. I think he could be a player to hit 20+ home runs a year while also hitting about .285.
Now the Cubs get two starters one with Ace potential in Hahn and the other with a 3rd stater upside in Nolin. The Cubs get two young cheap starters who could immediately slot into the number 4th and 5th spot in their rotation. Which would give the Cubs an even stronger rotation. Jesse Chavez gives the cubs an impact slot starter in their bullpen and rotation who could start when needed.
While the As get an impact prospect and a pitcher with 3rd starter upside who is also young and cheap. The Cubs outfield is already getting over crowded with potential as Soler and Schwarber are potentially in the outfield as well as Bryant who could move to the outfield.
David Dahl 47# best prospect. Raimel Tapia 99# Rockies
Trade: Jesse Chavez, Jesse Hahn, Fernando Abad, Ike Davis, and A.J Griffin for David Dahl and Raimel Tapia.
The Rockies get exactly what they want young controllable pitching and the As get two very exciting prospects. Jesse Chavez could either slot into the bullpen or the rotation for the Rockies as they have needs in both areas. Additionally they get Jesse Hahn who would immediately slot in as their number one or number two starter. A.j Griffin could slot in as their number 3 or 4 starter depending on his health. The Rockies also get a decent bullpen arm in Abad. The Rockies get Ike Davis who is a plus fielder and could potentially tap into a lot more of his power in the hitter friendly Coors Field. The As surely win this trade as we get two players with a ton of upside.
David Dahl is the center piece of this trade for the As and the best guy we would be getting in return. He is a guy who could potentially be a 20/20 player every year. He will be a incredibly solid pick up and has a chance to become a truly elite player. He has plus power displayed by the 41 doubles he hit in double A in 2014. He displays plus defensive skills in centerfield and could stay their long term. He's an incredibly exciting prospect and I would be very excited to see him play in Oakland around 2017.
Raimel Tapia is an exciting prospect in every way. He has shown above average contact at the plate and has shown a decent amount of power at the plate in the minors. He has above average speed and can play all three outfield positions well. Showcasing a plus arm in the outfield. He has also showcased the ability to hit for a good amount of extra base hits by hitting 34 doubles this year.
Cornelius Randolph 85# Phillies
Trade: Sean Nolin, Jesse hahn, and Fernando Abad for Cornelius Randolph.
Cornelius Randolph is a very young player and its hard to see the phillies letting him go but in the off chance they would be persuaded in letting him go i think the As would be very interested.
The Phillies get two players that they can build their rotation around. Jesse Hahn could step into the old ace role that hammels used to fill if he could live up to his potential. While Sean Nolin would also be a pitcher who could immediately plug into their rotation. While Fernando Abad could go into the bullpen for them.
Cornelius is only 18 so he has a ways to go in the minors but he has great potential to not only hit for average but for power as well. Hes still a very raw prospect like many of our best ones we have in the minor leagues right now. He could very well become a big impact player once he makes it to the big leagues.
Albert Almora 89#
Trade Albert Almora for Jesse Chavez, Raul Alcantara, and R.J. Alvarez.
Albert Almora is a future Gold Glove center fielder and the As need a better defense. Thats something Albert Almora could instantly step in and provide. Albert is an incredibly aggressive hitter at the plate he has a .294 average in the minors compared to a .322 on base percentage. But if the As could instill some patience in the young prospect he could become a player who consistently hits over .280 and with 15+ homeruns a year.
The Cubs get Jesse Chavez who immediately moves into the bullpen and R.j. Alvarez becomes the Cubs new Tommy hunter if he stop giving up the long ball. Additionally they get an intriguing prospect in Raul Alcantara who posses a good amount of upside.
Max Kepler 96# Twins.
Trade: Sean Nolin, Aaron Brooks, Bruce Maxwell, and Felix Doubront for Max Kepler.
Max Kelper is one of the few people to come to the Mlb from Europe, and the Twins were right to take a chance on him. He has an above average bat in terms of contact and has a chance to hit for a above average amount of power as well. Max Kepler has a good eye showcased by his 69 walks this year and it will only get better with age. He will also steal constituently steal over 10+ bases a year.
They get Sean Nolin who could step into a rotation full of questions. Aaron Brooks could either step into the Rotation as a 5th starter or move to the bullpen either way its a good depth move for the now competitive Twins. Bruce Maxwell could be another Catcher that the Twins could have years of control of also and he has a chance to be an above average defensive catcher. He also has a tremendous amount of raw power that he could eventually tap into.
Felix Doubront would step into the bullpen and become a spot starter for them which he could serve decently for the twins. Also he isn't that expensive of an option for them.
