Fantasy Football: FanDuel and Season Long Picks for Week Eight

Phil has FanDuel Fantasy Football picks and Season Long League Waiver Wire options for those of you playing Fantasy Football in either format for week eight

Orlando Ramirez-USA TODAY Sports

It's time for our weekly shot at the million over at FanDuel. If you played the main lineup last week while we didn't win the million we did end up with 170 points. That was 50 points better than our minimum target of 120 points. Let's see if we can't do better this week.

Keep in mind that we are looking for value here and each pick below are who I believe will get 2 points for every 1000 dollars spent and while the following picks all add up to $60,000 what I'm offering below isn't meant to be a lineup. You can use it if you like or just use a couple of picks OR scrap the entire thing!

QB: Ryan Fitzpatrick New York Jets $7,400: Over his last two games Fitzpatrick is averaging 23 FanDuel points per game and he's going up against the Oakland Raiders who have worst passing defense in the NFL. I like the price and I like the matchup!

RB: Chris Johnson Arizona Cardinals $7,300: The Baltimore Ravens have a decent rushing defense and Johnson made them look like amateurs rushing for 122 yards and a touchdown. This week he's up against the worst rushing defense in the NFL and I don't see the Browns being able to stop him.

RB: Justin Forsett Baltimore Ravens $6,900: Forsett hasn't had quite the season we were expecting but he's been solid averaging 12.6 FanDuel points a game. This week he's up against a Chargers defense allowing 136 rushing yards per game. This could wind up being a great value play on Sunday.

WR: Keenan Allen San Diego Chargers $8,000: Allen is averaging 16.9 FanDuel points per game and this Sunday he faces a Ravens passing defense allowing 230 yards per game. With an over under of 50 this one is going to be a shootout and hopefully Allen puts up some big numbers on Sunday.

WR: Brandon Marshall New York Jets $8,300: Marshall is pricey this week but I do like my tandems and this one simply shouts "play me" on Sunday. Marshall laid a stinker this past Sunday scoring just 8.7 FanDuel points but the 16 point average per game and the lousy Raiders secondary can't be passed by too easily.

WR: Donte Moncrief Indianapolis Colts $6,400: Moncrief hasn't been spectacular but he has been solid and has a touchdown in each of his last 2 games. Carolina has a nice pass defense but the Colts have what seems to be a rejuvenated Andrew Luck who seems to like to throw the ball Moncriefs way. Moncrief might wind up being a steal at $6,400 bucks this week.

TE: Benjamin Watson New Orleans Saints $5,400: The New York Giants are a terrible team against the pass. Drew Brees like to throw the ball and he also likes to target Watson as evidenced by his 29 receptions (tied for second on the Saints) and his team leading 2 touchdown receptions.

K: Justin Tucker Baltimore Ravens $4,900: The Chargers Ravens game has an over under of 50 points, The Ravens are favored by three. Tucker has booted a couple of 50 plus field goals and let's hope he's able to kick one or two for us on Sunday.

Defense: Arizona Cardinals $5,400: The Cardinals are in Cleveland to take on the Browns Sunday afternoon. The Browns were hapless against the Rams and this Cardinal team is 4th in the NFL in total defense including a League high 12 interceptions and 12 sacks. Hopefully they pitch a shutout on  Sunday!

Go win the million Fantasy Football owner!

Week eight of the Fantasy Football season begins Thursday October 29th 2015. We're at the halfway point of the season and if you are in need of a quarterback, running back, wide receiver or tight end I have some suggestions for you to consider.

Teams with a bye this week are Buffalo, Philadelphia, Washington and Jacksonville.

Quarterbacks

Derek Carr Oakland Raiders: Carr has been up and down this season but he does have an interesting matchup at home against the Jets on Sunday. The Jets have the 4th best passing defense in the NFL and while Carr has been up and down he has thrown for 1110 yards and 8 touchdowns with 3 interceptions over his last 4 starts. He's also available in over 65 percent of all Major Fantasy Football leagues.

Brian Hoyer Houston Texans: Hoyer has been a Fantasy Football surprise this season and over that season he's thrown for 1346 yards, 11 touchdowns, 3 interceptions and 3 fumbles. This Sunday the Texans host the #2 passing defense of the Tennessee Titans. Vegas has this one currently as a tossup but you can bet no matter what happens Hoyer is going to throw the ball LOTS and is currently available in over 80 percent of all Major Fantasy Football leagues.

Ryan Fitzpatrick New York Jets: Fitzpatrick has been a pleasant surprise this season and he has a dandy matchup with the only team in the NFL still allowing over 300 yards passing per game Oakland Raiders on Sunday. This season Fitzpatrick has thrown for 1,472 yards, 11 touchdowns, 7 interceptions and just 1 fumble. This matchup is as good as it gets this week and Fitzpatrick is available in over 75 percent of all Major Fantasy Basketball leagues.

Teddy Bridgewater Minnesota Vikings: Over the last two weeks things have finally started to come together for Bridgewater that included his first 300 plus yards passing game of the season. Over the season Bridgewater has thrown for 1,339 yards, 5 touchdowns, 4 interceptions and 3 fumbles. This Sunday the Vikings face a Bears passing defense allowing 220 passing yards per game and Bridgewater is available in 27 percent of all Major Fantasy Football leagues.

Running Backs

James Starks Green Bay Packers: Starks showed out two weeks ago against the Chargers rushing for 112 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries. He also caught one pass for a touchdown. The issue is who's going to get the most snaps in the Packers backfield and what role Starks plays going forward. The Packers have a tough one against the #1 NFL defensive team also known as the  Broncos on Sunday. Starks is currently available in just over 50 percent of all Major Fantasy Football leagues.

Antonio Andrews Tennessee Titans: If you need yards this week out of your backfield Andrews is available in just over 55 percent of all Major Fantasy Football leagues. He'll also be facing the Texans this week and the way the Dolphins Lamar Miller ran roughshod over them last Sunday Andrews might be a good pickup this week. Andrews won't put up big numbers but he's okay both as a rusher and a receiver.

Wide Receiver

Nate Washington Houston Texans: Washington was huge on Sunday against the Dolphins hauling in 9 passes for 124 yards and 2 touchdowns. He'll face a tough test this Sunday against the #2 Tennessee Titan pass defense but he is available in over 75 percent of all Major Fantasy Football leagues and might be a good pickup this week.

Tavon Austin St Louis Rams: Austin has 31 targets this season leaving him tied for first among Rams wideouts and over the season Austin has  20 receptions for 187 yards and 3 touchdowns. He'll face a 49ers pass defense that allows 292 passing yards a game and is available in just over 50 percent of all Major Fantasy Football leagues.

Brandon LaFell New England Patriots: LaFell final made his season debut last week and while he didn't exactly set the world on fire he did have 2 catches for 25 yards and also dropped 3 targets. He's on Tom Brady's radar and against a Dolphins team allowing 240 passing yards per game and being available in just over 50 percent of all Major Fantasy Football leagues are all good things to see.

Tight Ends

Eric Ebron Detroit Lions: Ebron had a nice game last week against the Vikings with 5 catches for 89 yards and a touchdown. Season wise he's been solid with 20 receptions for 268 yards and 3 touchdowns. This week the Lions will face a Kansas City Chiefs passing defense allowing 264 yards per game through the air making the 60 percent available Ebron a possible hot commodity this week.

Benjamin Watson New Orleans Saints: Watson seems to be a big part in what the Saints are trying to do on offense and this season Watson has 29 receptions for 325 yards and 2 touchdowns. This week the Saints face a Giants team allowing 288 passing yards a ballgame. Watson is available in over 50 percent of all Major Fantasy Football leagues and is yours for the taking!
