FanDuel DFS Fantasy Baseball and Football Picks for October 4, 2015

Sunday marks the end of a long MLB regular season with all 15 MLB games being played at either 3:05pm or 3:10pm Eastern.If you are playing Fantasy Baseball today at FanDuel I have some options for you to consider.

Pitching

Clayton Kershaw ($13,000) has a home start against the Padres and just like he has against everyone else he has an outstanding record against this collection of Padres. Over his past 5 starts Kershaw has struck out 11, walked 2.06 and allowed 0.51 bombs per nine innings and has gone 6 innings or better in 4 of those 5 starts. The Padres have a 23 percent strikeout rate, .295 wOBA and wRC+ of 88 against lefties this season.

Cole Hamels ($10,600) takes the hill at home today against the Los Angeles Angels. The sample size is small but Hamels has done very well against this collection of Angels. Over the past 5 starts Hamels is striking out 7.91, walking 1.91 and has allowed 1.09 bombs per nine innings pitched and has lasted 6 innings or better in each of these 5 starts. The Angels have a 18 percent strikeout rate, wOBA of .295 and wRC+ of 89 this season against lefties.

Jacob deGrom ($10,800) has a home game against the Washington Nationals and he's experienced some good success against this Nationals roster. Over his past 4 starts he's striking out 10.13, walking 0.75 and allowed 0.38 bombs per nine innings pitched and has lasted 6 or more innings in 3 of his last 4 starts. This season the Nationals have a 21 percent strikeout rate, wOBA of .313 and wRC+ of 95 against righties.

Danny Salazar ($9,100) faces the Red Sox in Cleveland and while the sample size is small he has some success against this Red Sox crew. Over his past 5 starts Salazar 5.40, walking 3.18 and has allowed just under 1 bomb per nine innings pitched and has lasted 6 innings or more in 3 of his last 5 starts. The Red Sox have a 17 percent strikeout rate, wOBA of .321 and wRC+ of 98 against righties this season.

Lance McCullers ($8,700) is on the road against the Arizona Diamondbacks and over his past 5 starts McCullers fanned 8.71, walked 2.61 and allowed 1.16 bombs per nine innings pitched and lasted 6 or more innings in 4 of those 5 starts. The Diamonbacks have a 20 percent strikeout rate, wOBA of .319 and wRC+ of 96 against righthanders this season.

Michael Pineda ($8,800) is in Baltimore to take on the Orioles and he's had mixed results against this Orioles roster. Over his past 5 starts Pineda is striking out 7.53, walking 1.57 and has allowed 2.20 bombs per nine innings pitched. The Orioles this season have a 21 percent strikeout rate, wOBA of .323 and wRC+ of 101 against righties this season.

J.A. Happ ($7,300) has a home matchup with the Cincinnati Reds and while the sample size is small he has had some success against the current Reds. Over his last 5 starts Happ is striking out 11.40, walking less than 1 and has alllowed 0.60 bombs per nine iinnings pitched and has lasted 6 or more innings in 3 of his last 5 starts. The Reds have a 20 percent strikeout rate, wOBA of .311 and wRC+ of 93 against lefties this season. Happ might be a good GPP option on Sunday.

Dan Haren ($7,200) is on the road against the banged up Milwaukee Brewers and he might be a good GPP play today. Despite the small sample size his history against this current Brewers team is halfway decent. Over his past 5 starts Haren is fanning 7, walking 2.03 and has allowed 0.68 bombs and has gone 6 innings or more in 2 of his last 5 starts. The Brewers over the last 2 weeks have a 26 percent strikeout rate, wOBA of .283 and wRC+ of 73.

Possible Stacking Matchups for Sunday

The St Louis Cardinals have a favorable matchup with the Atlanta Braves Matt Wisler. Lefties have a wOBA of .434 against Wisler and the Cardinals have a wOBA of .323 and wRC+ of 103 against right-handers this season.

The Detroit Tigers have a favorable matchup against the White Sox Frankie Montas. The last time he faced the Tigers they torched him for 6 earned runs in just 3.1 innings pitched. Over the season the Tigers have a wOBA of .317 and wRC+ of 99.

The Chicago Cubs have a favorable matchup with the Brewers Jorge Lopez. Left handed hitters are slugging .625 with a wOBA of .419. For the season the Cubs have a .316 wOBA and wRC+ of 98 against right-handers this season. They also strikeout 24 percent of the time so keep that in mind when stacking Cubs today.

Possible Value Plays for Sunday

The Phillies Darin Ruf ($2,700) has a favorable matchup with the Marlins Adam Conley. Righties are slugging .471 with a .331 wOBA when Conley is on the road. Ruf has slaughtered lefties with a .470 wOBA and wRC+ of 203 against lefties this season.

The Padres Clint Barmes ($2,600) has had a tremendous amout of success over his career against Kershaw swatting 3 bombs and slashing .303/.361/.515/.876 and if he plays he might be a good salary relief option on Sunday.

The Orioles J.J. Hardy ($2,200) has had great success against the Yankees Michael Pineda hitting 3 bombs with a career slash line of .462/.500/1.154/1.654 line and might also be a good salary relief play on Sunday.

Hey FanDuel Fantasy Football player!

Did you win last week? Last week's value picks weren't meant to be an entire roster but I entered them anyway and we didn't win. We did come awfully close and I have some ideas as to how to change things this week.

Please remember that the list below isn't meant to be an entire roster.....these are picks I believe will get you extreme value in order for you to spend up on certain players if you so choose. Of course you can also go with this entire lineup or just pick a couple or disregard the entire list and do your own thing!

The other thing I want you to remember is this; our goal is to get 2 Fantasy points per $1000 dollars of salary spent and if they exceed that then we have a great opportunity to win some real cash on Sunday.

QB: Last week's selection of Ryan Tannehill wasn't the best idea I ever had......and this week I'm going to spend less and hopefully get more value by adding the Bengals Andy Dalton ($7,600) to the mix. 8 TD's and 1 interception for 866 yards is nothing to sneeze at and he's got a fairly good opportunity to do some damage against the 287 yards passing per game allowing Chiefs so this could be good on Sunday.

RB: I like the Falcons Devonta Freeman ($7,200) on Sunday against the Texans. The Texans 108 rushing yards allowed is pretty good but Freeman is better. Freeman just torched a very good Cowboys rushing defense for 141 yards and 3 touchdowns and is also a pass catching threat as well. $7200 was the clincher for me. That's too good a price to pass up on Sunday.

RB: I like the Browns Isaiah Crowell ($6,200) against the defensively challenged Chargers rushing defense on Sunday. Josh McCown is still the Browns starting QB and with that bad Chargers rushing defense handing the ball off to Crowell might not make him look so bad on Sunday. Plus it would be the smart thing to do. It's also an awfully low price to pay for the Browns backfield workhorse.

WR: I really like tandems and I like the tandem of Dalton and A.J. Green ($8,400) on Sunday against the Chiefs. Green is the Bengals and Dalton's big play guy and he hasn't disappointed this season with 2 catches of 40 yards or more including an 80 yard touchdown reception. Look for Green and Dalton to hook up plenty on Sunday.

WR: The Cardinals Larry Fitzgerald ($7,400) is having a nice season thus far and he's delivered as Carson Palmer's go to guy with  23 receptions for 5 TD's already this season. Sunday should be a good test against a Rams defense that has only allowed 202 passing yards per contest but Fitzgerald looked good against a tough Bears defense in week 2. He should be good to go on Sunday.

WR: Keenan Allen ($7,700) has a nice matchup against the pass defense of the Cleveland Browns. The Browns have allowed 238 yards per game and that bodes well for Allen who torched the Vikings in week three with 12 receptions for 133 yards and 2 TD's.

TE: This week I have to flip the script and go with Charles Clay ($5,200) this week against the NY Giants. QB Tyrod Taylor is the talk of the NFL and one of his main targets is Clay. Last week Clay had 4 catches for 44 yards and while he didn't find the end zone Sunday he has been there twice this season and should find his way in there a couple of times this Sunday.

K: Last week our kicker got zero points. That sucked. This week we are going to go with the Bills Dan Carpenter ($4,700) for the same reasons we went with the Dolphins kicker last week. Buffalo should score lots and that means Carpenter should be kicking lots.

Defense: Last week I scrimped on my defense and it cost us money. You get what you pay for right? I'm not making that mistake and going with the Legion of Boom also known as the Seattle Seahawks ($5,300). They are playing the Detroit Lions on Monday night and let's face it; the Lions offense is near the bottom of the pack, the Seahawks defense is near the top and also playing at home. This could be a good way to finish the weekend!
