Who is Mark Canha?

Alex Hall makes his weekly appearance on the Phil Naessens Show where the guys talk about the Athletics outfield for 2015.

Brad Barr-USA TODAY Sports

Hey Athletics Nation!

Mark Canha was this seasons Colorado Rockies Rule 5 Draft acquisition. The Rockies then traded him to the A's for Austin House and some cash. He'll either have to remain with the Athletics for the entire season or get offered back to the Miami Marlins.

I have a feeling we're going to be seeing quite a bit of Canha this season.

Canha plays first base, third base, left and right field. Defensively speaking he's better as a first sacker but spent more time last season in Triple A playing left field. He also saw some time at third base where he wound up making three errors and finishing the season with a .906 fielding percentage.

Those defensive numbers are the best I could find....but if his AAA numbers can be believed he's a power hitter with an ISO of .202 and a BABIP of .356. His slash line of .303/.384/.505/.889 is fairly hefty but again these are AAA numbers.

That's about the gist of it.

Alex made his weekly appearance of segment one of the Phil Naessens Show and we talked about the outfield and also who we thought might get traded amongst this current crew. It was a fun conversation.

Segment five of the show Jason Walker from RotoAdvice and I started our Fantasy Baseball segments. Today we talked about the top National League pitchers. As usual I'll leave the player below or you can download the show from my site.
