Chad Jenkins P Blue Jays: Out 4-6 weeks with a broken hand

Desmond Jennings SS Rays: Out with a knee injury. No timetable for his return.

Homer Bailey P Reds: Done for the season after having arm surgery

Yu Darvish P Rangers: 15 day DL and most likely done for the season.

Starlin Castro SS Cubs: Out with a high ankle sprain and most likely done for the season.

Anthony Rizzo 1B Cubs: Out indefinitely and could miss the rest of the season.

Waiver Wire Picks for the Week

Mookie Betts OF Red Sox: Betts will play in the OF everyday from here on out so he might be a pretty good pickup this week especially after jacking 2 bombs, driving in 7 runs and stealing 4 bases in the last 7 days. (stats)

Adam Eaton OF White Sox: There's nothing better than a hot hitter and stolen bases in week two of the playoffs Eaton has been on a bit of a tear hitting .391 scoring 6 runs and stealing 4 bases in his last 7 games. (stats)

Arismendy Alcantara SS 2B OF Cubs: Alcantara hasn't been hitting for a very high average recently but he has hit 3 bombs over his last seven days. If you need home runs this week the triple eligible Alcantara might be a good choice. (stats)

Shelby Miller SP RP Cardinals:  Miller has two starts next week and is coming off consecutive games where he's pitched into the seventh inning. He's facing two teams this week that are reeling; the Reds and the Rockies. He might be worth a look if you need wins this week. (stats)

Marcus Stroman SP Blue Jays: Like Miller Stroman has two starts this week but unlike Miller Stroman has won his last two outings striking out ten in 13.2 innings worth of work. He could pick up a couple of wins and a bunch of strikeouts this week as he faces Chicago on Monday and Tampa Bay on Saturday. (stats)
