AL Wild Card Game: Athletics and Royals Preview

New, comments

Alex Hall goes on the Phil Naessens Show and the guys give us an in depth preview of the American League Wildcard game between the Kansas City Royals and Oakland Athletics

Jim Cowsert-USA TODAY Sports

Hey Athletics Nation!

Game #163 is Tuesday and at the beginning of the season this is the last place I expected the Athletics to be. I suppose it is what it is and we have a great baseball game to look forward to on Tuesday!

Two very good baseball teams that have taken very different routes to get to where they are today with one game deciding who moves forward and who gets to take an early vacation.

I'm still unsure of what I think about this one game playoff format but as a fan of the game it doesn't get any better than this does it?

Jon Lester against James Shields should make for a tremendous matchup. The Athletics and Royals both have above average bullpens that over the course of the season have proven they know how to take care of business.

The Athletics have the post season experience and the Royals are hungry to prove they belong among the elite in the American League.

On segment two of my show today Alex and I previewed this game. I think you'll enjoy the segment as I believe we did a pretty good job breaking down the strengths, weaknesses and matchups on both teams. Also on the show David Zavac from Fear the Sword and I talked Cleveland Cavaliers hoops and Welcome to Loud City and HUGE Warriors fan Zeb Benbrook and I answered questions from the listening audience about the Golden State Warriors. I'll leave the player below or you can download the show from my site.
