Good afternoon and a Happy Friday to all of you! Welcome to Atlanta, Georgia, a city that is fairly new to the A's, considering how often the A's and Braves hook up. Here's to hoping that Turner Field is more welcoming to the A's than Kauffman Stadium, which sandwiched one really fun game in between three disasters. The A's offense doesn't look like it's in first place, and last night, the bullpen also forgot. So all in all, the A's are just as happy this week is coming to a close. Remember when baseball used to be fun? A special treat to look forward to after a long, hard week? Tonight, champagne will have to do. Feel free to substitute your drink of choice.
Jason Hammel will be both hitting and pitching for the A's tonight in the National League park, so let's hope his NL numbers show up. Hammel earned his first win as a member of the A's this week, and he'd like to make it two in a row. With the offense struggling, runs are at a premium. Andy Parrino has found his way into the lineup for this start, facing the left-handed Alex Wood. Freiman is also in the game and Moss is not. To be honest, it kind of looks like a Spring Training lineup tonight, but every night has been a near-no-hitter lately, so maybe I'll be surprised. At least almost all of them are right-handed. There's that. But considering that both Vogt and Moss hit well in KC, it is a little bit surprising.
Here's the full lineup:
LET'S GO OAK-LAND!
