Hello and welcome to another edition of A's baseball!
We move on past Manny Machado onto a team that may actually play a role in baseball's postseason this year, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Yeah, they suck, but they likely will be in the thick of the WC1/WC2 race towards the end of the year. The A's can go a long way in keeping them out of the AL West race with a series victory or sweep here. If the Angels do some damage, though, they will find themselves in the hunt.
Ernesto Frieri got the trash talking going early:
"We're going to beat them," Frieri said. "Get ready to write that. I hate to say this, but they have a little bit extra luck. If you pay attention every play, it's stupid how the game goes their way."
Game on!
Remember to participate in the GOG, if that's your thing! The GOG is a fun way to make series predictions and test yourself against other AN savants: http://www.athleticsnation.com/2014/6/9/5794302/gog-2014-21-slegna-whackin-time
Here are your lineups - Let's go Oakland!
Trout and Hamilton are back, so this is quite a different Angels team than what we saw just a couple of weeks back in Oakland.
