Game Thread #82: A's at Tigers

The A's kick off the series vs. the nemesis Tigers at Comerica Park. Playoff preview again?

Mike Stobe

Welcome to A's baseball!

The A's re-re-match against the middling-but-can-sleepwalk-to-first-place Tigers.

Remember to GOG

Alex has a great preview of the series, so I'm not going in-depth. Seriously, read it.

Fox Sports has some good tidbits about the Anibal Sanchez vs. Scott Kazmir matchup:

Kazmir, limiting opponents to a .217 average, has had trouble against Victor Martinez (11 for 23) and Rajai Davis (9 for 18).

He will again match up with Anibal Sanchez (5-2, 2.64), who was in position to win last month's meeting. Sanchez took a shutout into the bottom of the ninth inning before closer Joe Nathan allowed Josh Donaldson's three-run homer.

If you don't remember, that was a legendary game.

Here are your lineups (sadly still only two catchers, but expected versus Sanchez). Let's Go Oakland!

Today's Lineups
