Athletics hits of the month - May

Let's look back at some of the best hits by the Athletics in May.

Ed Szczepanski-USA TODAY Sports

May isn't quite over yet, but tomorrow I leave my computer for a few days so let's go ahead and pick the Hit of the Month for May.

Nomination #1. John Jaso's walk-off smash. After taking home the honors in April, Jaso has a good chance to go 2-2 for Hits of the Month. Jaso's blast off the wall scored Nick Punto from first to beat Washington in the 10th.

Nomination #2. Derek Norris' Mother's Day Double Dingers. Nope, the video isn't a copy. Norris hit two two-run homers against Gio Gonzalez, both on 3-0 counts.

Nomination #3. Josh Reddick's Grand Slam. I was listening to the game on the radio when Reddick came to the plate with the bases loaded. I was thinking it sure would be nice for Reddick to get into one here. And did he ever. Reddick crushed the pitch for Oakland's first grand slam of the season.

Nomination #4. Brandon Moss' Home Run in St. Petersburg. Solo home run, nothing special. Except this was the only hit the A's got in the game. It was enough, barely.

Nomination #5. Josh Donaldson walks off against Detroit. Perfect.

Just missed the cut: Cespedes go-ahead single in the 10th at Boston, Josh Donaldson stupidly-sick 448 ft. bomb to right-center in Toronto.
