Game Thread #53: Oakland Athletics vs. Detroit Tigers

After last night's frustrating and disappointing loss, the A's try to right the ship; as they have lost a lot of games recently. They turn to Scott Kazmir to be their stopper as the A's offense takes on Anibal Sanchez.

Good evening, and welcome to another exciting game of A's baseball! None of us got our money's worth in last night's game, but the great thing about baseball is that there is usually a game the next day to make you forget your 24-hour sorrow. In this case, Scott Kazmir will be facing off against another arm from the seemingly endless pile of Detroit aces, Anibal Sanchez. Kazmir will have his work cut out for him, as the Tigers are an extremely good hitting team, and they flashed plenty of leather in last night's game. They are pretty close to the entire package, but then again, the A's have proven that they can club any pitcher on any day. Just not every day.

The lineup is nearly a carbon copy of last night, with the exception of both catchers starting the game; Jaso as the DH. I'm curious to see his bruise from yesterday. We can--we must--hope for better things than the game last night, and unlike Gray's first inning, Kazmir would be well-served to give his team the first chance to score.

Here are your lineups:
