Don't look to me for extra hype about tonight's game, since everything that you need to know about the game was said so brilliant in the story and the comments here. Tonight's game may be game #52 on the season, but a Gray/Scherzer duel, representing two of the top teams in the American League, is simply not to be missed. It's a Tuesday after a holiday weekend, yes, but parking is free, and the game will be good, so I hope everyone that can shows up in Oakland to cheer Sonny Gray on to victory.
Owning the highest run differential in the league at +100, more than double the hot-on-their-heels Los Angeles Angels, the A's continue the home stand and the four-game series against the Tigers tonight as Gray takes the mound against Max Scherzer, last year's AL Cy Young winner.
The A's offense has been stifled for a full week now, so yesterday's decimation of Tigers' pitching was a welcome sign for A's fans, as they saw their team send 5 home run balls out of the park. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Scherzer won't allow 5 home runs tonight, but stranger things have happened, and certainly have for the A's so far this season.
The A's will start their usual suspects against Scherzer, standing in Callaspo at DH, Sogard at second, and Jaso catching and batting second. Let's hope some of the magic of last night's offensive explosion can show up, bringing the crowds along with it on a beautiful Spring night in Oakland, and that Gray can keep the Tigers off the board.

LET'S GO OAK-LAND!
